Thanks for stopping by! I’m James Oaksun, and I’m a Democratic Party candidate for Florida State Representative in District 100 for the 2024 election.
Elections are about the future. What kind of future are we going to have here in Florida? After all, the year 2050 will be here before you know it — there’s less time between now and then than has passed since Bill Clinton’s election as President.
I’m running because I think Florida could be so much better than it is, for all of its 22 million citizens. I believe both major parties — the Republicans mostly, because they are in charge, but also the Democrats to a degree — have failed Florida’s future. Unlike the Republicans, the Democrats have a history of reform and therefore I think there is some hope for the Democrats to adopt a new, forward-looking strategy and return to dominance in the Sunshine State.
I would like to be a part of that renaissance.
The starting point for my campaign, which spells out my ideas and philosophy, is my new book, titled Next Acts.
